A Turkish virtual credit card for foreigners is usually hard to get from a bank, because Turkish banks and fintechs normally serve people with local ID, a local phone number or residency. There is another route. At ZenVCC you buy a Turkish virtual card online, from a balance you fund with crypto, without opening a Turkish bank account. This guide compares the two routes honestly and shows what buying from outside Turkey looks like.
Why foreigners look for a Turkish virtual credit card
Most people who search for a Turkish credit card for foreigners don't need a Turkish bank. They need a card issued in Turkey for one job online. Some services bill in Turkish lira. Some expect a card issued in the same country as the account. A card from Turkey matches what those services expect, and paying in the same currency as the bill avoids a currency conversion on every payment.
If that is your goal, the question is not "Which Turkish bank will take me?" but "Where can I get a card issued in Turkey that I can use online?" The answer decides which route makes sense.
The bank route
A card from a Turkish bank comes with an account at that bank. For a foreigner that usually starts with a foreigner identity number (YKN): an 11-digit number starting with 99, which the Migration Administration assigns only once a residence or work permit is approved. Most banks also ask for a valid residence permit, a Turkish tax number, a phone number on a Turkish operator for SMS codes and proof of income (a Turkish finance comparison site, HesapKurdu, updated August 2026).
For someone who lives in Turkey, that is often the natural choice. For a foreigner who only needs a card for online payments, it is usually more than the job needs. Our guide to getting a Turkish credit card online covers the bank route step by step.
Turkish card apps after the 2025 licence cancellations
Turkish e-money apps were long the other route, and many guides still recommend them. Two of the best known lost their licences in late 2025, so check any app's status before you rely on it.
| Company | What happened | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Papara | Turkey's central bank (TCMB) cancelled its e-money licence under Law No. 6493, in line with a decision of the banking regulator (BDDK). Papara said user balances are held in protection accounts. | Official Gazette, 31 October 2025 |
| İninal | The central bank cancelled its operating licence under Law No. 6493, together with those of PayFix and Aypara. | Central bank decisions of 6 November 2025 |
Cards sold by third parties on top of these apps depend on them. When an issuer loses its licence, its cards can stop working whoever sold them to you. That is why it pays to know who issues a card before you buy it. Our guide to whether a Turkish virtual card is safe has a checklist.
The online route: a Turkish virtual card for foreigners
ZenVCC sells virtual cards online. You don't open a bank account and you don't apply for anything. The comparison is simple.
What you need: with a bank, local ID, a local phone number or residency. With ZenVCC, an account, a crypto balance and, if it is switched on, an identity check with your own ID.
How you pay: with a bank, the card spends from your bank account or from credit the bank gives you. With ZenVCC, you add crypto to your balance and buy the card once from that balance. ZenVCC is not a bank and doesn't give credit.
What you get: with ZenVCC, a Visa or Mastercard virtual card from Turkey, issued by a licensed Turkish bank, that holds Turkish lira (TRY). Its number, expiry date, CVV and billing details appear in My cards once it is ready.
What it costs: the four Turkish cards in the catalog cost from $110 to $310 in total, with the $10 issue fee included. Each card payment costs $0.10, and there is no monthly fee or account fee.
How long it takes: a bank reviews an application on its own timeline. At ZenVCC, your deposit is checked on the blockchain first, then the card you buy shows as processing until it is ready. Neither step is instant, but both are visible in the dashboard.
In other words, the name "Turkish virtual credit card" is a search term. What a foreigner can buy online is a Turkish virtual card paid for up front, not a credit line from a Turkish bank.
Identity verification for foreigners
Identity verification may be asked for before you buy. When it is switched on, the dashboard asks you to finish it before you can buy a card. You don't need a Turkish document for it.
You upload photos of the front and back of a national ID card or driving licence, or of a passport's photo page twice, and a selfie holding the document. Our team reviews every submission. You see its status in the dashboard and get a notification when the review is done. If a submission isn't approved, the dashboard shows the reason so you can upload new photos.
Your photos are stored privately and are only seen by the verification team. Give accurate details: verification checks the real person behind the account.
Paying from abroad with crypto
The balance is funded with crypto only. There is no bank card or bank transfer involved. You are responsible for following your local rules on crypto.
You can add Bitcoin (BTC), USDT on TRC-20 (TRON), USDT on Solana, TRX or SOL. Start a deposit, and the deposit page shows the exact amount to send, the network and the address. Send that amount in one payment, then paste the transaction hash on the deposit page. Every deposit is checked on its blockchain, and your balance is credited in US dollars, automatically or after a review by our team.
The card totals are in US dollars too, so you don't have to work out lira prices to see what you pay, while the card itself holds lira for the services you pay. If you send from an exchange, check whether its withdrawal fee comes out of the amount you type. The exact amount shown has to arrive, and the sender pays the network fee.
Pick USDT on TRC-20 or USDT on Solana, whichever your wallet or exchange supports. Coins sent on one network never arrive on the other, and a payment on the wrong network can't be credited or recovered. An exchange can also add time if it queues or reviews a withdrawal before sending it.
Add only what you plan to spend. The balance can't be withdrawn from the dashboard; it is used to buy cards.
Keeping track of your money from abroad
When you buy from another country, it helps to see every step. Each deposit shows its current step in the dashboard, from waiting for payment to credited. If a deposit needs a check by our team, its status says so.
Deposits, card purchases and refunds appear in Transactions, with the balance after each one. If a card order can't be filled, the cancellation and the refund show up in your notifications with the order's reference number. For any question about your balance, contact support and mention your account email.
How to choose, step by step
- Decide what the card is for: one service, ad account or subscription per card keeps each bill easy to trace.
- Check whether that service bills in Turkish lira or expects a card from Turkey. If it bills in US dollars, a USA card is usually the better match.
- Check which networks the service accepts, Visa, Mastercard or both.
- Check who issues the card and that the issuer is licensed.
- Pick a card that covers the charges you expect, because cards can't be topped up from the dashboard.
Choosing and buying a Turkish card
Open the Turkish cards page to see all four cards side by side. All four hold Turkish lira (TRY). The Lira Currency Card is a Visa at $110 in total. The Turkish Mastercard is $130 in total. The Turkish Premium Visa and Turkish Premium Mastercard are $310 each in total. All totals include the issue fee. Our Turkish VCC guide covers prices, buying steps and declines in full.
Pick the network the service you will pay accepts, then a card that covers the charges you expect. If you pay for several things, one card per service or account keeps each bill easy to trace. Cards can't be topped up from the dashboard, and money on a card can't be moved back to the balance.
After you buy, the card shows as processing until it is ready. If the order can't be filled, it is cancelled and the whole amount, issue fee included, goes back to your balance. Each card is valid for 3 years from the day it is ready.
Using the card from outside Turkey
Add the card in the service's payment settings with the number, expiry date and CVV from My cards. Enter the billing name and address exactly as My cards shows them, even if they differ from your home address. A billing mismatch is one of the most common reasons a card is refused.
Each service decides which cards it accepts, so no provider can guarantee acceptance. A Turkish card is for legitimate payments, not a way around a service's country rules. If a service isn't available where you are, a card from another country doesn't change that.
If a payment asks for a one-time code, note that My cards doesn't show these codes, so that payment can't be completed with the card. Use a different card, or contact support at support@zenvcc.com with the card's reference number.
Next step
Open an account to get started. Finish identity verification if the dashboard asks for it, add funds with crypto, then choose one of the Turkish cards. Every total is shown before you pay.
